As a data analyst you analyse and interpret raw spectra data and convert it into useful information for the company and/or a client (project). Your main activities will be:
– Collecting, checking, and structuring data.
– Designing data processing algorithms that process obtained spectra into accurate material properties, such as elemental mass percentages.
– Creating data models.
– Drawing up reports and presentations, describing your findings.
– Providing advice on the information obtained, such as material sampling strategy, measurement strategy, or measurement setup improvements.
Result areas
– Participate in project teams that realise LIBS applications for customers, where you ensure that the target information and its accuracy requirements are reached.
– Support the measurement plan and data collection for existing and new applications of our LIBS analysers.
– Design, implement, and evaluate the data processing algorithms required for the application.
– Monitor the accuracy and bias of our analyser applications in operation.
Personal qualities/competencies requirements
– You have strong communication skills, are results-oriented but patient and flexible.
– Broad knowledge of required software, programming languages and analysis methods, such as statistical analysis, least-squares regression and curve-fitting, and machine-learning.
Knowledge of python and its analytical modules (numpy, scipy, scikit etc.) is required.
– Strong analytical skills, problem-solving thinking. Combining your insight with your SW skills, you are able to swiftly select, apply, and evaluate the performance of different analysis
algorithms over large datasets.
– Presentation skills and the ability to explain complex information in an understandable way.
– Proactive and enterprising, contributes creative ideas for the collection or analysis of data.
– Theoretical and practical knowledge of data modelling and semantics.
– You have knowledge of data management and data architecture.
– You have insight into and a feel for the relevant business, corporate and technical environment.
– Accurate and an eye for detail.
– Stress-resistant and able to deal with deadlines.
– Affinity with or interest in spectral analysis.
– EU passport or existing work permit for the EU.
Education requirements
Master (preferred) or Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, computer science or equivalent experience.
Work experience requirements
> 5 year experience in collecting, processing and analysing data, preferably in a high-tech environment.
